Chuck Cameron, NX Controls Sales Manager – Northeast, Current Lighting
Are you frustrated with traditional occupancy sensors that only switch on and off? Join us for an enlightening session on advanced energy-saving technology focused on human comfort. New energy codes mandate sensors in most commercial spaces, making thoughtful occupancy sensing more crucial than ever. Systems like NX Lighting Controls enable flexible operation sequences that conserve energy without compromising user experience.
The presentation will start with a brief overview and demonstration of the two most common occupancy sensing technologies. This will be followed by an interactive demo of NX’s patented Intelliscope® technology, which offers real-time visual feedback for accurate calibration of digital occupancy sensors.
We will then delve into sophisticated operation sequences that ensure optimal lighting while saving energy. The session will showcase how Partial-On and Partial-Off settings provide initial flexibility, followed by advanced options like second-step timeouts, scheduled occupancy behaviors, and the ability to keep lights on based on occupancy in adjacent areas (as per IECC-2018 and later). Finally, we will discuss how occupancy data can enhance HVAC efficiency and optimize workspace usage
Why this topic is of interest
This is a more advanced look at data from basic occupancy sensing that can be interpreted and incorporated into usable information to save energy while improving human comfort. Advanced topics such as second-step timeouts, scheduled occupancy behaviors and adjust lighting based on occupancy in adjacent areas will be discussed. The end of the presentation will shed light on how occupancy data can enhance HVAC efficiancy to optimize workspace usage.
Key Takeaways
- Demonstrate an Advanced Method to Callibrate Occupancy Sensors
- Discuss Sophisticated Sequence of Operation Options
- Learn about Integrations with Other Building Systems to Enable Smart Buildings
