This session will go wide and deep— ranging from devices, protocols, and networks all the way to the full ecosystem of opportunities in the decarbonization era. Based on a series of recent interviews with personas beyond the lighting industry, I will share their perspectives about lighting. Interoperability, digitization, and future proofing are the keys to getting our share of tomorrow’s opportunities. In today’s market the expectations, criteria for success, and financial ROI’s have significantly changed. It’s time to have ourselves a “courageous conversation,” and see if we can get out of our own way to get a seat at the grown-up’s table.
This presentation will focus on when and why to specify dynamic controls and how best to engage a systems integrator to ensure a painless and successful end result. This will be a 3 part presentation followed by Q & A.
Part 1) Ted will present from the lighting designers’ perspective on the when, why, and how to specify dynamic controls followed by how to engage a systems integrator. (Approx 10 minutes)
Part 2) Eugene will present from the systems integrator’s perspective on how to take the lighting designer’s specification’s and vision and bring them to a successful end result. (Approx 10 minutes)
Part 3) Both Ted and Eugene will present a case study on the International Spy Museum: touching on the collaboration between lighting designer and systems integrator. (Approx 10 minutes)
Director of Sales, Lighting Controls and Embedded Solutions, Acuity nLight
Fixtures with embedded controls are the easiest and, in many cases, the most cost-effective way to meet energy codes and user requirements. Learn the value of using embedded controls to design a system that meets emerging IECC and ASHRAE standards while at the same time providing the ultimate in Flexibility. Presented by Acuity Brands, this presentation will explore how nLight can be used to do just that.
Lightcloud Blue is mesh wireless lighting control system enabling controls of luminaires and lamps, RGBW and SmartShift tunable white technology. RAB’s patent-pending Rapid Provisioning technology allows devices to be quickly and easily commissioned for residential and large commercial applications using the Lightcloud Blue mobile app. The talk will include an overview of the technology and demonstrations of provisioning and controlling lighting using the Lightcloud Blue App.
