Exclusive Sponsorship Opportunity for Exhibitors Only

NYControlled Committee Member, Dan Blitzer explains in detail questions you may have about sponsoring a presentation. He explains the benefits, possible topics, the process, the audience, and marketing opportunities sponsoring a presentation will provide.

This is an EXCLUSIVE SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY for EXHIBITORS ONLY. We look forward to hearing about your expertise and knowledge!

1. Can you explain the concept of sponsored presentation slots at NYControlled 2024?

NYControlled offers exhibitors a unique sponsorship opportunity to directly communicate their message to a focused audience interested in lighting controls. Exhibitors can propose a presentation for a $2000 sponsorship, which helps cover the event’s expenses. The flexible format allows manufacturer-specific tech talks, CEU presentations, or other relevant topics. Presenters can be employees or independent professionals.

2. Why did the committee introduce this approach to the event?

This approach allows exhibitors to share important information with a focused audience while supporting NYControlled.

3. What are the benefits for exhibitors in sponsoring a presentation slot?

Exhibitors benefit from:

  • Elevate your brand before and during the show to an audience specifically interested in lighting controls.
  • A dedicated event with no competition for audience attention, as the seven presentation timeslots are the only opportunities available. These slots are non-overlapping, ensuring all focus is on these educational sessions.
  • An opportunity to introduce their product and company educationally and engagingly.
  • Supporting the growth and sustainability of this new event. As NYControlled is in its early stages, your sponsorship is crucial in making this valuable event possible and successful.

4. What topics are you looking for from the exhibitors, and what are some best practices for preparing their presentations?

We encourage a wide range of topics, both basic and advanced. These include new codes, regulations, standards, technology comparisons, design approaches, collaboration, and economics. The most engaging presentations come from topics that excite and energize the sponsor and presenter. Communicate the appropriate knowledge level for the audience, indicating whether the presentation provides primary education or requires in-depth knowledge. Presentations can include slides, videos, samples, and hands-on demonstrations. Each session is 50 minutes.

5. Could you walk us through the submission process for a presentation proposal and tell us the deadline?

Exhibitors can find the submission application here. The application needs to be emailed to presentations@nycontrolled.com. The presentation committee accepts and reviews each submission and will notify exhibitors until all slots are filled. We look forward to your proposal!

6. What criteria will the NYControlled Committee use to select the proposals?

Proposals are evaluated based on:

  • Interest for the NYControlled audience.
  • Freshness and relevance of the content.
  • Diversity and breadth of topics across the seven sessions.

7. How will the presentations be scheduled throughout the event?

The presentation committee will schedule sessions and notify each sponsor.

8. Can multiple presenters or panel formats be used for these sessions?

Yes, individual, multiple, and panel formats are welcome.

9. Can you explain the differences between CEU and non-CEU sessions and the responsibilities for CEU certification?

A CEU presentation enhances the sponsor’s brand value, supports relevant technologies and applications, and strengthens credibility. It also involves securing CEU certification, which is the exhibitor’s responsibility.

A non-CEU presentation allows more flexibility to discuss the sponsor’s products and value proposition, which is ideal for introducing new systems.

10. What are the costs associated with sponsoring a presentation slot?

The cost is $2000 per session.

11. What kind of marketing support will sponsors receive?

NYControlled will promote presentations on our website, through email campaigns, on social media, and at the event. Potential attendees will be particularly interested in the topics and speakers. This is a substantial value because it elevates your brand long before and during the show.

12. What kind of audience can exhibitors expect at these presentations?

Presenters can expect a broad audience of lighting designers, engineers, controls specialists, architects, building managers, electrical contractors, energy specialists, students, emerging professionals, and salespeople.

13. What happens if an exhibitor’s proposal is not accepted? Are there any other opportunities for participation?

The NYControlled website lists other attractive sponsorship opportunities here. Early action is advised for the best options.
